Surfing at Agger

Surf spots

"Cold Hawaii" is the name surfers give to the coast of Thy—from Agger in the south to Hanstholm in the north. Here, the best surf spots are all gathered on a single map, with Agger as the starting point.

Remember: The North Sea can have strong currents and rough shore breaks. Always check the wind and waves, never surf alone, and keep your distance from the piers. Check the weather in Agger.

Agger and Sydthy

"Cold Hawaii" begins in Agger. This is where the North Sea meets the Limfjord, and the breakwaters on the spit create some of the most powerful waves in Thy.

Agger Tange

The Long Pier – No. 72

The long pier at the tip of Agger Tange is a legendary spot for surfing, windsurfing, kitesurfing, and wing surfing. Powerful shorebreak and big waves—best with a swell from the south to the west and winds from the south/southeast.

Thy National Park

Bøgsted Rende

A straight stretch of coastline with a sandy bottom north of Vorupør that can produce good waves when the sand conditions are right—often bigger than at Vorupør. It’s very sensitive to wind, so surfing is best when there’s an offshore breeze or in calm weather.
