Welcome to Sydthy Golf Club in Hurup Thy, beautifully situated between the roaring North Sea and the gentle Limfjord—with Thy National Park right next door.
Our golf club has an18-hole golf course that is beautifully and variedly laid out, bordering a forest and featuring gently undulating holes that wind their way through plantings and man-made lakes.
Our vision is to provide both our members and green fee players the best conditions for a great golfing experience—or even a wonderfulgolf getaway—at Sydthy Golf Club’s facilities in Northwest Jutland.
Architect-designed golf course
Sydthy Golf Course is a natural course located in a beautiful, rolling landscape between Hurup Thy and Vestervig in North Jutland.
To the north, our golf course borders Hennings Plantage; to the south and east, there are open expanses, and if you stand up straight, you can catch a glimpse of the Limfjord from a couple of the holes. On hole 16, on a clear day, you can catch a glimpse of Krik Vig to the west and the Limfjord to the south. The golf course winds its way through the gently rolling terrain, featuring small wooded areas and small lakes.
A golf course designed with a focus on nature
The course was designed in 2005 by golf course architect Henrik J. Jacobsen, who, with great expertise, has managed to create a beautiful natural golf course that blends seamlessly into the surrounding landscape.
Since our golf course is a natural course, part of its challenge lies precisely in the natural surroundings, which, according to Henrik J. Jakobsen, are meant to be enjoyed rather than played on. Due to its relatively flat terrain, the course is very accommodating for older golfers or those with mobility issues. As on all other golf courses, a major part of the challenge is staying on the course and not playing on or in the surrounding areas.
The golf course undoubtedly puts Sydthy on the map and is a source of great joy for a large portion of the local population. Golf helps bring the small local communities together as one and is a healthy and enjoyable recreational and sporting activity that can be enjoyed by people of all ages and skill levels.
The course is certainly an asset that will help maintain and increase the population in the area, while also giving tourists yet another good reason to choose the scenic region of Sydthy as a vacation destination.
Our golf club has many great facilities
In our clubhouse, you’ll find everything you’d expect at a golf club, including comfortable locker rooms with restroom and shower facilities. In the clubhouse, you can enjoy both hot and cold beverages from the vending machine, as well as any packed lunches you may have brought along. There is a lovely kitchen attached to the clubhouse that is available for use.
On the terrace, we enjoy ourselves in a relaxed atmosphere while watching the golf game, with an unobstructed view of the course.
